Judge G. Mallon Faircloth, who resided over the case of the 37, issued sentences of up to 6 months in prison, despite the fact that recommendations were made for maximum sentences of 1 year probation. Ranging in age from 18 to 72, fifteen human rights activists received sentences of 6 months in federal prisons, 14 received 3 months, 7 -- first time offenders -- received 6 months probation and 1 was aquitted. Fines were issued at up to $5000. The sentencing for the SOA 43 took place on Friday, July 12.
